4x4RNE Teesside meet

4x4RNE covers a huge area, the Teesside area is growing in numbers and as a supplement to the monthly club meeting held in the Newcastle area we are holding a meeting for all members further south on the 25th Jan at 7.30. the venue is Lazenby Social Club TS6 8DX.



All members are welcome as is anyone interested in 4x4RNE and who want to learn more about what 4x4RNE do.



For interested parties this is an opportunity to meet the teams and hear what we do and decide if its for you, for existing members who cannot get to the monthly meeting up North :) it is a chance to talk through any concerns or ideas and ensure they get channeled to the club meeting. The evening is very informal and very much also a social event as well as business.



A word of thanks to the Commitee and steward of Lazenby Social Club who have waived their usual room hire fees for this meeting

The Teesside meeting started with yours truly arriving stupid early, then constantly checking the car park for anything vaguely 4x4, I shouldnt have worried, the head count at 7.45 was 23 of which only 6 were known as long term RNE members and 2 people ( me included) who had recently signed up.

Nigel gave a presentation about RNE and its relationship with other groups, the discussion then moved onto what we do and what the volunteers can do,

It was emphasised that 4x4RNE has a social as well as work side. The current RNE members took time at the end of the evening to chat with those intersted



RNE membership forms were not just handed ouit, they had to be asked for, I believe that Nigel gave out 9 or 10 on request



A sucessful night, and more to the point enjoyable, those there asked that we organise this meet again, and I will talk with the club to see if thats possible ( I have no reason to doubt it will be)

The next Teesside open meeting for RNE and those interested in what it does is at 7.30 15/02/2010 at the Lazenby Social club in Lazenby village - for those of us who cannot make the South Shields Meets it is an opportunity to hear what was discussed and give our input- stick the date in your diary !!
