Exercise LANCELOT, is a multi agency Rest Centre Exercise which will take place on Thursday 05/03/09 I anticipate that approximately 10 vehicles will be required spread between 2 centres of operations a) The Rest Centre at Wells and b) the Evacuation point in Glastonbury. that is certainly the numbers that I suggested that we will need.
If we can get the Support Unit completed (or at least operational) by that time it will be a good test and should provide communications, shelter etc.
The actual nature of the incident is not being revealed at this time but sufficient to say that there will be approximately 250 casualties with varying degrees of (hopefully) simulated 'injury or medical needs'.
The following agencies, amongst others, will be participating.
Casualties Union
Various Educational Establishments
The above supplying "victims"
Police
Fire
Ambulance
Mendip District Council
Somerset County Council CCU, Adult Services, Fostering services, Child Protection
The local Primary Care Trust
British Red Cross
Freewheelers
RAYNET
St John Ambulance
Samaritans
Salvation Army
Wessex 4x4 Response
WRVS
Victim Support
So far one member has indicated a willingness to attend, I would appreciate a few more volunteers. If anyone close to Glastonbury /Wells would like to be a 'victim' or knows someone who would please let me know and I'll forward your details to the CCU.
The actual exercise will run from approximately 09:30 - 15:30 but times may vary slightly
