Not exactly a standby or call out (as we've not got an MOU) but SEE4x4R are currently responding to a call for help from South East Coast Ambulance Service to transport staff to/from Ambulance HQ in Bansted. They are expected to need our help on Tuesday as well.

Thanks Alasdair.

Up until about midday I was expecting a quiet but frustrating day at home (frustrating because we have the capability but were unlikely to be used). Then I received an email from Chris at Peak 4x4 Response asking if soemone could help out his parents who live in Kent. From there it just snowballed (hahaha!) and I don't think I left the PC and 'phones for 5 hours!

While most of the work was in Surrey, I was able to call on members living in north west Kent and put them at the disposal of Nick (our Surrey co-ordinator) who was organising things at Ambulance HQ. I think this validates my view of the strengths of our counties working together :)

We have a meeting with Kent CC and Police this week. We're already pushing at an open door but today's weather will hopefully put a little urgency into our 'recognition'. My email to the CC EPO, offering our services today if needed, was appreciated and should also help. Best of all, we have now proved our worth in Surrey (our development area) and have a contact within the Ambulance Service.

We had more crews out this morning, again taking staff to/from Ambulance HQ.

SECAmbS stood down our members at approximately 1200 today.
