4x4 Response Wales is seeking new members from across Wales and the Borders and will be having a training and assessment exercise in Mid Wales at the end of April which will involve some great off road driving and other activities and free camping all for just £15 per vehicle for the weekend. Attendance will be open to members only and a membership form can be downloaded from www.4x4responsewales.org (http://www.4x4responsewales.org) Other benefits include free and subsidised training, cheap access to some great off road sites, equipment discounts, plenty of activity days and weekends – most involving some off-roading and being part of a valuable community resource.
The next training and assessment event for the Group will be Radnor Forest over the weekend of 25th/26th April and there will be camping available on the nights of the 24th and 25th.
This is an ideal opportunity for volunteers to achieve Responder status by completing the basic modules of Off Road Driving, Recovery Techniques, Navigation Skills, Basic First Aid, and Survival Skills.
For those that have already completed the Basic Training Modules either at Radnor or Llandovery, there will be additional training and teambuilding activities that will enable you to achieve additional credits within the Training and Development programme.
Not only will there be the possibility to get trained and assessed by qualified and experienced instructors but you will also get access to some of the fantastic routes that have previously been used in the Baja and Off Road Championships.
It will be necessary for participants to be paid up members of the new 4x4 Response Wales Group and I have attached a copy of the new Volunteer Registration Form. Even if you are not planning to attend the Radnor Event, please complete and return the form if you have not already done so as we will shortly be dispensing with the Powys Group members list and will be using the new Wales Group list for communications and event planning etc.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are planning to attend this event and which day(s) you will be attending and also if you propose to camp.
