Hi Pete,
You might see a couple of posts from me on other forums, at the moment although it is being advertised in the showground's events list neither LRO or Live promotions have it on their sites.
Update
Live promotions have advised that it has been postponed until "possibly next year"

Oh no!!!
:( :( :( Im afraid i dont have enough time to frequent too many forums so i havent seen anything.
Typical, we think somethings coming to somerset and it all goes wrong :(
Do we know if there are any plans to open the existing off road course to public vehicles as i think its only for their vehicles at the mo :?: :?:

Hi Pete,
We're working on the off-road course, we have a couple of members who have the right contacts there.

It appears that there may be a left hand / right hand situation, as I've heard from another source that it is on. Once I know something for certain I'll repost.

i'm working on trying to get use of the cross country driver training area near tidworth. The downside is it may cost, but ! It'll work out cheaper for a group than a pay and play site and far better ! Or else just use it and lose your car ? Nah ! Lol

Right folks,
I have sent the following to the guys in Wessex tonight.
Hi All,
As you may be aware there has been a fair amount of discussion whether the show is on or off.
It now seems as 100% certain that it is definitely on although it won't be a LRO show such as Peterborough .

We have been asked whether we can supply any volunteer marshals to the off-road course, I am sure that there are one or two who would be happy to do so for beer & barbecue.and a go on the course. We have also been invited to have a publicity stand at the show.
These are two good opportunities to a) Recruit members b) Raise funds c) Raise our profile and of course d) (most importantly) Enjoy ourselves.
SO if you feel that you can attend either on the stand or as a Marshal please let me know, including which days/nights you can make.
If anyone from further afield fancies attending please drop me a PM

Hi Gusy
Hi contacted the organisers and it is definately on. They have sent through the attached.
Could we perhaps arrange a "4x4 response village" with teams that are attending?
I will pass this onto our guys.
Happy reading :-)

Hi all,
There is now a website (http://www.lrsouthwest.co.uk/) up for the show, I aim to have a number of Wessex 4x4 Response members assisting on the Off road course PLUS 2 stands - one small one at the 4x4 course and a larger one in the main show ground, both promoting not only Wessex but also the national network.
If anyone would like to assist us in manning these stands or marshalling the course, please drop me a PM with your contact details.

Hi Jason,
It was indeed good to see you. We've had three applications already and I expect a few more, hopefully a few other teams might also have some interest as folks from Wales and Essex to name just two were showing interest.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2010 LAND ROVER WORLD SHOW ANNOUNCED
Land Rover World magazine has unveiled big changes for its popular annual show. Following extensive discussions with Eastnor Castle, it has been decided that the land where the weekend is normally staged will be rested in 2010, so the show will instead be staged at an alternative venue.
The 2010 event will be staged over the weekend of the 19th and 20th June at the Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet, a well known venue for its numerous shows and activities throughout the year. Camping will be available and there will be an off-road course on site for those enthusiasts who want to get muddy! The site is also well served with amenities including well maintained grass blocks, tarmac access roads, decent toilet blocks and a permanent main arena. Exhibitors will also be well served with access to electricity.
The publisher of Land Rover World, Kelsey Publishing, has also signed an agreement with Live Promotions to run the Land Rover World Show on its behalf. Live Promotions has over 35 years experience in running shows and events in the UK, including eight years of organising Land Rover events, so Kelsey Publishing is confident that the show is in good hands. Land Rover World will of course continue its support and association with the show, and you can expect to read more details about it in the run-up to June 2010 in forthcoming issues of the magazine, which goes on sale on the first Friday of every month.
More details and prices will be announced in due course. To stay up to date, look out for further announcements in forthcoming issues of Land Rover World, or visit http://www.landrovershow.co.uk.
I will be aiming to have a joint Wessex/National stand at the event with at least 6 vehicles on show; ideally more. If other teams also want to attend perhaps we could co-ordinate the attendance either a joint or adjacent stands

That's interesting as it is Live Promotions who run the shows for LRO too (Driffield, Billing, Peterborough).
Their website is advertising the 2010 Bath and West as a LRO event not LRW?
Upcoming LRO Dates

Driffield Showground Kelleythorne
Billing Land Rover, 16th - 18th July 2010
Billing Aquadrome, Billing
LRO Show, 11th - 12th September 2010
East of England Showground, Peterborough

I believe that the show two weeks ago was due to be an LRO show but in the end LRO had minimal involvement.
To be 100% honest I don't really mind who sponsors the show, so long as there is one.
