We have been asked by our colleagues in RAYNET whether we are able to assist with the Ridgeway Challenge (http://www.tra-uk.org/downloads/ridgeway_challenge_2009_flyer.pdf) from Ivinghoe Beacon. (Oxfordshire) to Avebury (Wiltshire).
Any Wessex members especially in Wiltshire who can help please drop me an E-mail.
I understand that Bux & Oxon have received a similar request for their half of the run.

I am local and willing to help out if need be.
Please call me on 07920782891.
I have tried joining BORG, but had no reply to my several mails. I am a member of Northants however.

Well it was a long night but, it demonstrated to our friends in RAYNET and the race organisers that we can provide support to such events,
I would especialy like to thank the guys from Hants & Berks for their support.
We have already been asked if we can help over the same weekend next year

I was up there with my RAYNET hat on and it seemed to be a positive event for all concerned, and since Cathy Clark, the RAYNET national chair, was involved in this event it was excellent exposure for the group even if - as I suspect - we didn't get in the muddy stuff.
RAYNET have already been asked if they are available to assist next year, so I would expect a 4x4 response invitation as well.
FYI, the winner of the race RAN 87 miles in 12 hrs 20 minutes, beating the previous record of about 14 hrs 29 minutes by a large margin.

Hi Andy, I guess that we spoke a few times on Saturday night. It all seemed to go quite well I thought.
Hopefully next year we'll be able to look at having a response vehicle (or 2) at each check point.
Cathy & I got the chance to speak on Saturday night and have agreed that we'll try to to have the two organisations work together again in the future.
