When he joined at 2007 Ilfracombe Rescue Show, Terry told us he was
good at fund raising.
Good as his word, he is embarking on a 200 mile round trip walking
from Ilfracombe to Plymouth and back. He will be camping overnight at
over a half dozen different sites and members will be on hand to carry
Terry's kit between sites.
His night time venues are:
Outbound –
August 16th Little Torrington
August 17th Okehampton
August 18th Peter Tavy
August 19th Marsh Mills, Plymouth
Returning –
August 20th Callington
August 21st Launceston
August 22nd Holsworthy
August 23rd Ilfracombe
Much of his walk will be on the famous Tarka trail and other prominent
footpaths.
His aim is to collect as much money as possible for the association
and even before he took a single step he had banked more than £200
with promises of as much again.
Terry has also been busy with local publicity and write ups in the
Landmark and North Devon Gazette.
Many thanks to supporting members - Seb Benn, Patch Jobson, Kevin
Phillips, and Jim Hancock, without whom this walk could not have taken
place.
Good luck Terry.
Progress reports to follow.
