The Message below was E-mailed to all members of Wessex 4x4 Response today

When he joined at 2007 Ilfracombe Rescue Show, Terry told us he was

good at fund raising.

Good as his word, he is embarking on a 200 mile round trip walking

from Ilfracombe to Plymouth and back. He will be camping overnight at

over a half dozen different sites and members will be on hand to carry

Terry's kit between sites.

His night time venues are:

Outbound –

August 16th Little Torrington

August 17th Okehampton

August 18th Peter Tavy

August 19th Marsh Mills, Plymouth

Returning –

August 20th Callington

August 21st Launceston

August 22nd Holsworthy

August 23rd Ilfracombe

Much of his walk will be on the famous Tarka trail and other prominent

footpaths.

His aim is to collect as much money as possible for the association

and even before he took a single step he had banked more than £200

with promises of as much again.

Terry has also been busy with local publicity and write ups in the

Landmark and North Devon Gazette.

Many thanks to supporting members - Seb Benn, Patch Jobson, Kevin

Phillips, and Jim Hancock, without whom this walk could not have taken

place.

Good luck Terry.

Progress reports to follow.

Just a brief update to say that Terry is safe and well. He is on schedule and should arrive in Plymouth some time tomorrow.

Saw Terry in Plymouth today when I dropped off his stuff. He is in good spirits and he has been allowed to put collection bucket in the campsite bar for the eve :D

Brilliant, that means he is now half way through his trek and should be back in Ilfracombe by the weekend.

Collected Terry this morning at 7.30.

He had collected £38+ yesterday and had a good time in the campsite bar!

After a good breakfast and a photoshoot at the Tamar Bridge they set off for Callington.

Will meet them at about 1pm with some hot pasties to see them thru till they set up camp again.

Terry & his walking buddy Ron are now camping in Callington - should have a terrific view - if the fog lifts!

Terry and Ron walked from Kelly Bray (Callington) through Launceston to Chapmanswell today in relatively good weather for a change - both fit and well!

Short leg to Holsworthy tomorrow!

Keep going guys nearly there!

Now that all the funds have been collected in I have met with Terry and some of his support team to collect the cheque, which seems rather large.[attachment=86:53_46c8dd541cb8e9c23b9fc746f4c22dad]
