On Sunday 25th October Rover Rescue were tasked to assist NORLSAR in a search on behalf of the Police for a missing person.
4 units attended and we were initially tasked with a drive around search (if possible) of 2 areas of the search zone and to assess the areas suitability for a foot search. One area turned out to be arable fields needing only a search of the perimiter dykes and hedgerows. The other area was almost impenetrable reed bed and marsh. Following this we were used to transport search teams to their search zones for the rest of the day.
The 70yr old gentleman has been missing since 26th Sept and no trace was found.
