How are these Guys, Probably too late for the Emergency Services Show but hopefully some use in the future. I have made one with a blue background and one with a plain white background:

I know they maybe huge on screen to some but they are full resolution for ease of display.

Hope they help, can change colours etc if needed in the future. I have spent 'WAY' too many years messing around in Adobe Photoshop :ugeek:

Can a correction be made to that map, please?

For Wales it is only showing coverage for the lower half of Powys, and it should include the top half!!

I presume, looking at it closely, that it is actually a post code map, which is VERY innaccurate.

Sure no problems but I am not sure which bit you are referring to, can ad it as soon as I know. Its not a postcode map though, its a royalty free, non copyright map that I had in my image stock.

Graham, it is actually based on current county and unitary council boundaries but I have no idea how Powys managed to get chopped in half :D

Actually you could do me a great favour if you could let me know which of the Council areas in Wales are covered at present:

OK some sort of report as promised...

Erm quite a lot...

Never had a chance to go look at the Unimog or LR stands :-( spent too much time talking to potential users...

For us lot I spent ages with - the ambulance services - we have a sort of nodding relationship with them rather than all engaged so this was very valuable...

EMAS - lincs guy very interested... more to tell in comming weeks/months when the follow up comes thru...

YAS - Doncaster - very interested n keen

YAS NY/EY - talked for ages - keen for us to do all sorts of stuff with them - very keen in NYM which will need more members there.

In addition Simon spoke to them about the national first responder scheme too - with a view to some sort of agreement which is then played out at very local level to make it work..

Lincs Air Ambulance - very interested for getting staff to work in snow n flood - he was from our local one - but representing the national umbrella body so he is going to take this to his national body in Feb with a thought that many of his equivalent number will want same help nationally... I will have to use contacts we have here to sus out the yorkshire air ambulance the same arrangement.

British Transport Police... general logistics - just like other police - the guys that were there were not form our patch but were going to spread it arround nationally - they were from SW so gave them Bob's number as a starting point - but thier area is bigger than wessex.

Inland flood rescue group - very interested in working together... more to come... Ian C dealt with them.

Defra flood rescue group - interested but it may take a lot longer to come home as they will want more training before going live... this could do with a national reponse - can someone take it?

I must have missed some - even got some folks wanting to start - Warwickshire 4x4R and Staffs and Shrops... via this forum and my card as I didn't have a contact for them directly!!...

Dave, when dealing with the ambulance/air ambulance services, we (Wessex) have several members in the service including one on the Air Ambulance. They might be worth 'mentioning'.

Yes we have too - well we have one form YAS - the guy I met had heard of me already which was handy...

And some of our team do fund raise for yorks AA... so hope I can sort that one out that way... if there is a positive thing at national level with them we'll feed back what happens - unless we put a national oar in to try n make a presentation at their national conference... ?

BobWessex

All in all, I would say that it looks as though it was a productive conference, well done guys.

Dave White
26-11-2009, 11:28 AM
Erm yes!

I would say there were quite a lot of other users there - police in particular which other teams could have met - not sure how many other were there - Tony was of course and Peak were there on Tuesday...

Well worth going for anyone I think - need a lot more time next time cos I want to go oggle all the equipment they have... !
