4x4RNE responded to a call from Northern Doctors Urgent Care.

4 teams (8 units) attended over night (18:00 to 06:00) ensuring doctors could attend calls.

Most requirements where in North Tyneside and Northumberland but also in Southern Scotland.

Feed back from NDUC indicated that they were extremely happy with the service provided. :D

No information as to ongoing requirements at this time.

Nigel.

Latest information........although all teams had been stood down, we have recieved an additional one off call to Allendale to transport a Doctor to a seriously Ill patient, which may require a transport to an ambulance. One team has been deployed.

We are also recomending extra early call out for this evening if required as it seems Teesside to NDUC centre at Tyneside is taking 6 hours, a journey normally taking no more than an hour!

i was the on site co-ordinator for this, initially we had 2 teams out (from about 4pm) with members aware we may need more

one team was running doctors to patients in the tyne valley area while the other team including myself was sent to berwick to get a doctor home into the scottish borders as this was an impossible journey by car

a third team was called out when the doctors work load became heavier and eventually a fourth team was needed

around 1am the decision was made to stand 2 teams down as the doctors manager thought they would possibly need teams through the following day time and wanted some of our members to get some rest

one of the teams that stayed on had to venture back up into the borders to bring the berwick doctor back into work and didn't get finished till the middle of the morning

1 team was called out on the sunday to cover outlying areas of northumberland where cars would of struggled

the doctors were again happy with the help we provided, and from a co-ordinators view point our lads (and lass) were fantastic yet again
