Units continue to remain on station at various Ambulance stations, providing support to the Front-line service. Although we have not recived any Police taskings both Police Ops Planning and the Control Duty Inspector are remaining in close contact.

We have had some over a dozen vehicles out at various times today and currently have 3 vehicles operational in North Somerset with 2 in Wiltshire, another 8 vehicles are ready to roll if the need arises.

Several vehicles have stood down overnight, but two have now been called to be available from 07:00 which will mean at that time we will have 4 vehicles operational although hopefully two of those will be stood-down as of 08:00

Just like to say well done to all involved. Sorry I couldn't help this rime as a major lack of funds stopped me. But if it stays like this after the 24th then I'll be around to help. Again, well done guys and gals :)

It was a great feeling to be involved
The ONLY down side was getting stuck in the same traffic queue as everyone else, making crews wait to be rescued (Westbury-on-Trym dual carraigeway car park need I say more!)
I think if possible, suggesting to Silver Commander of the relevant services to place us at compass points rather than centrally. Central Bristol to Southdean (west bristol) 90mins..... 30 sitting at Westbury. Mind you I did manage to save a van from sliding back into queued traffic at he made a U turn. You could see the panic on envisaged insurance claims on his poor face
Away North-west for Christmas, back available after 3rd.
Merry Christmas all, safe journeys!

The biggest problem which is the same for all emergency services is that whereever you place your resources the incident will be somewhere else. For instance in the morning we had one vehicle at Weston Super Mare, being used while the one at Clevedon 10 miles away was doing nothing. However, only half an hour before he arrived an Ambulance had to be dug out, hence putting him where he was.
