Great western Ambulance Service has advised that due to road conditions a major incident has been declare throhghout the Southwest.
All west-country teams are on standby,

GWAS gold control has just advised that due to a severe weather warning we remain on standby until at least 08:00

Bob, I sent a reply to the text but got no response. Also think there was a digit missing from the number in the message.
What exactly are the conditions we expect? Ooops ok checked the forecast.... icy roads. If called I may just nip into the council depot and borrow a carrier bag of grit ;)
I can be available until 0800 as am off north later in the day

Hi Dave, check your voicemail -- but as you say rain or snow on icy roads is the main worry.

Hi all,
GWAS Avon area has advised that we are no longer required in the Avon area. However GWAS Wilts has requested that we remain on standby to at least 11.00.
The Log below gives some idea of what's been happening.
