Hi Guys,
Well, I am gutted, but the time has come to put up my Disco for sale. She has been and continues to be fantastic, but needs must and I just can't justify keeping 6 vehicles, so one of them has to go.
Firstly some glamour shots:
So what is she?
Spec goes a little like this:
It is a 3.9 Discovery, R350AGX. At some point it has been modified to semi-expedition state.
In terms of specification it has the following:
3.9 LPG Converted Engine, 126,000 miles approx (slightly lower but it does go out a few times a week)
New exhaust manifolds in last 10,000miles
95Ltr LPG tank in boot, just installed and serviced (new diaphragm on diverter fitted at same time, <300miles)
All fuel lines replaced at same time.
All new brake lines front to rear.
All new brake pads and discs (EBC Off Road)
Serviced <3k miles ago
6months MOT (December)
6months Tax (December)
In terms of the kit is has fitted, I will start on the roof and work down:
Hanibal Roof Tent with awning and entrance awning
Hanibal Side Awning
Bosch Solar Cell Battery Charger and Conditioner
6 off Light Force Spot Lamps (£160 per pair)
2 off Rear Work Lights
Shovel
Wind Cheetah Roof Rack
Bush Wires
Safari Snorkel
GRP Colour Coded Arch Extension
2 Suspension lift (Skorpion Racing Installed)
EBC Brake Upgrade (Discs and Pads, callipers serviced at same time)
New Brake lines front to rear, I believe braided hoses from body to callipers
Twin Battery System under bonnet
Air Compressor driving off engine, 10bar, with oiled and dry air line connection
Super Winch 9.0 on Cheviot Front Winch Bumper
Standard Rear Hitch and Nato Hitch
Sump Guard, Steering Rack Guard, Diff Guards (Qt Brand)
Through body S/S Exhaust
CB Radio
Battery status indicator
On board bespoke fresh water tank in food industry quality stainless steel (with electronic pump and tap)
Rear is racked out, with cargo nets etc.
Receipts are present for all of the above.
So, with that and the pictures you hopefully get the feel for the vehicle.
Known problems, the transfer box lever is seized (I have disconnected it from the transfer box and manually engaged and disengaged diff lock with no problem, just not got around to pulling the centre console out yet). Some traditional Discovery rash on doors. I have started to address this, stripping it back, treating it, acid etch primer and top coat. So it is not getting any worse, but I will be honest and say there is some. There is no rust around chassis mounting points at all, structurally it is solid.
Engine is fine, gearbox fluid is fresh. Kick down is good, vehicle pulls very well. Tracks and brakes straight and true.
Returns low/mid teens mpg, slightly more on a run if you are careful.
The vehicle owes me £5,500 as it stands, I would be looking for offers on it close to £5k if possible (the kit alone is worth this if bought new).
So there it is, I just can't keep all of them, so one has to go.
