Hi there.. is there any chance we can get the tapatalk plugin installed on the national forum. We're using it for HB4x4R and it's very popular with the members who use mobile devices, and so it would be useful to use it for the national forum as well.

It supports vBulletin and the board plugin is free - it's a few quid for the mobile device app for anyone who chooses to use it.

What does the app do? I,m using my mobile at the moment and the site loads up fine.

It provides a mobile optimised view of the forum, and reduces network traffic needed to view/post. Think of the difference between trying to access the gmail website on a small screen, and using a dedicated gmail app.

I like it. I asked in our group forum for something like this but was told no. But that was without seeing this. I've raised it again now, because its really does look great on my iTouch, which I use 90% of the time....I have wifi and roam around a lot. hmmm. Anyway, just using the web forum makes navigation really tricky and I'm forever pinching the screen and expanding it ...

yes - go to the developer's web site, you'll see it as a application for iPhone/iTouch

I've been taking a look. The free version doesn't allow replying/writing to forums, its read-only, but for under £2 you get it all.

We're running it already in the HB4x4R forum and it hasn't caused any problems so far.

It works with iPhone, Android, and Nokia Symbian phones, and the Blackberry version is in beta.

Chaps,

Can we have a show of hands of who would actually use this please if it was installed? (I don't really want to increase the maintenance overhead unless there are a number of people who would use it.)

Cheers

I'm using it already, so will def use it for this and the SEE4x4R group - I'm getting some resistance there though by one or two who are happy reading the forum as is on their Blackberrys.

I'm already accessing the forum from an iphone but an app that makes this a bit easier would be welcome, so yes I would most probably use it.

Don't understand any of this, so no, no use to me. My 'phone isn't that fancy.

I have the free Tapatalk app on my iTouch - it means you can't reply or see large pics. I also registered with B&H4x4R and I've liked the way the app works. If the National and SEE sites implement it, I'll buy the full app which is only £1.79 anyway :-)

I wouldn't use it purely 'cos I haven't a clue what you're all on about ;)

This is now installed and available on a trial basis (as long as it is used and doesn't cause any dramas it will stay).

It shows up on my phone ok, please let me know if you see any problems.

Cheers

Thanks, Patrick. Working fine for me and it hasn't caused any problems with our PhP forum - and I for one will be using it.

Well i've just had a look and it seems OK, looks like it will be worth paying £1.79 for the full app.
