We are going to attempt to resurrect the Fife 4x4 Response Group. Any offers of assistance will be welcome, particularly with regards to which banks are amenable to new groups. We hit major problems last time trying to set up an account using BAnk of Scotland, which ultimately led to the committee running out of steam to set the group on a formal footing

Thanks,

Renny

Did you get any replies to this request Renny?

Dave, although Renny posted a week ago it has only popped up today. As Renny is a 'website user' his posts will require admin intervention, so I suspect it's only been noticed today and attended too. I would suggest, if Renny has not already done so to contact the Trustees directly for assistance and information in the first instance.

Thanks for the support. We are in touch with Hugh Steele who has offered support.
What we need is local volunteers to assist with the Admin and driving things forwards. I have too many other commitments, especially during the summer, to do this effectively.

Hi Renny, Gerry here at Highland. We went with R.B.S to start up & are still there, they couldn't be helpful enough. We are putting together a policy drop box, I will talk to committee & see if they mind sharing what we put together for you to cherry pick/adapt for your use, I don't see a problem. Anything you want I'm sure we will be willing/able to help you with.
Good luck

Thanks Gerry, that would be much appreciated. We've also got offers of document shares from Lothians Group as well, and the Fife Vouluntry Action Group are offering practical help with the best way of setting up the group to progress towards charitable status. The Fife RAYNET group are supporting us, as are the Council Emergency Planning Team.

Progress is being made, but it looks like once again I'll need to drive it until we get a formal group and structure in place. Our main problem is going to be that it's the same people, who already have other volunteer commitments to these other groups, that will be adding the 4x4 Group to the demands on thier time.

Renny, I really want to see the group set up and prosper and we can offer all the support you need - Setting up a Bank account - will not be any issue - if you know who to ask ( hint )

You absolutely need to get 2 or 3 additional bodies to help get set and run the group and are willing to share the workload and running the team - There will be people out there we just need to find them.

I understand that both the Tay and Forth bridges are free to vehicles so that should help with cross group assistance ;)
