A brief mention on ITV news

http://www.4x4response.info/picture.php?albumid=87&pictureid=531 (http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/2016-07-14/rescue-teams-practice-dealing-with-summer-forest-fires/)

A responder in shot from 1:16 and then a quick mention of the "4x4 squad" shortly after with a few vehicles in shot.

It looks like Norfolk and Suffolk - hopefully someone will be along in time to let us know more - an article for the newsletter would be good too please.

Triton 2 was a major multi agency exercise with many scenarios around a flood and dam burst.
I will try to upload some of our pics.

Some of our members were involved in moving pumping equipment for the fire service as well as helping move personel and casualties during the exercise.

Oh.... and the recovery of a 4x4 of one of the other services involved.

From pre-exercise briefing:

Triton 2 information:

Norfolk and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Services will jointly host Exercise Triton II from 13th – 16th July 2016. Exercise Triton II is designed to test the National Resilience High Volume Pump response to 3 large scale simultaneous incidents.

The exercise will involve a 24 hour practical simulation, utilising 50% of the HVP Capability in England and Wales on Thursday 14th July 2016. 15 HVP’s will take part in 2 exercises in Manchester and a further 5 HVP’s at 1 exercise in Norfolk.

Norfolk Fire And Rescue Service:

Norfolk will test the National HVP response and tactics employed when presented with a large Wildfire. This builds on the learning outcomes from Swinley Forest and more recent wildfires in Norfolk.

We intended to utilise other National Resilience assets, such as Enhanced Logistical and Tactical Advisor Support in order to fully exercise the arrangements under the National Coordination Advisory Framework. A Strategic Holding area will be established from 15:00 13th July 2016, with the live play commencing at 08:00 hours on Thursday 14th July 2016.

The following FRS HVP’s will take part: Norfolk, Essex, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent and Nottingham.

Other agencies and organisations involved: Airwave, Eleveden Estate, Environment Agency, Forestry Commission, Lowland Rescue, 4x4 Response, Raynet, Military, Natural England, National Resilience Assurance Team (NRAT) and Highways
