Sideways with a bench seat down each side, but it makes no difference. I used to drive those FV432's, the driver's seat is the only place where you don't need to wear a tin hat inside! One way to reduce being thrown around in the back was to put one foot on the lip of the seat opposite to brace yourself, and hope that your mate on the opposite side didn't slip with his foot!
Stopping to refuel used to be fun... especially if you had a petrol one, were doing it in the dark, on a slope and with a hot exhaust pipe, because the petrol filler cap is directly above the exposed exhaust pipe!

thanks to everyone that has posted sounds like i am in for fun trying to find something i did try selling some of the kids on e-bay starting bids 50p but no takers so i will just have to keep looking

About 8mpg but multifuel and will run on contaminated fuel, my mates used to get contaminated fuel free from the recovery companies who picked up vehicles that had 'miss fueled'.
