Default Lincolnshire Flooding

Since June 13th LN4x4R have been deployed in and around the flooded area in Wainfleet, Lincolnshire. You will have seen on the news that the River Steeping had a breach and added to two months rain in two days 650 homes were evacuated.
Our Responders assisted with evacuation and moving people and materials in and out of the flooded area.

Over 350 hours and 2500 miles were done by Responders while we operated our control for 10 days, finally standing down last night.

The most unusual task was the recovery of a 6ft snake from it's house in the floods and taking to a new home. Fortunately one of our Responders is from South Africa and well used to snakes !

The River Steeping remains a danger to the surrounding area and we may well be called again if the temporary repair by the EA proves insufficient.
