Default Hello from North Staffs...

Thought I'd say hello and have a look at what you fellas are up to and mebbe see if there is something for me here?

I'm a Registered Nurse, I've been working in trauma intensive care for the last 11 years or so. Is there a group in the n.staffs area?

This is my pride and joy having some fun in the lakes last month...

It's a pretty standard 90 hard top, just with a bit of armour, a set of muds and a CB but it makes me smile on my days off.

Cheers,
Martyn.

Welcome to 4x4 Response and the forum. Yes the group that would cover North Staffs would be North West 4x4 Response (as far as I know anyway).

BTW, nice looking truck and I'm not normally a Land Rover fan. Dark colours definately suit them.

Thanks for the welcome mate, I'll hunt down the NW group.

It looks black in the pic, but the colour is Epsom Green I think. I like it anyway (apart from it being a bit on the cool side in this weather).

Staffs is actually covered by the newly formed West Midlands group but Andy is partially correct in that you may actually be closer to North West.

Try sending a PM to

West Midlands - Tim Childe
North West - Dave Holland

Also in Staffordshire the Lowland Search and Rescue Team (Staffordshire Search and Rescue) was formed from the the former Shropshire & Staffordshire Land Rover Club, Rover Rescue team and are currently the first point of call for 4x4 assistance from the Staffordshire Local Resilience Forum. So whilst we wouldn't normally tell you to go and join another organisation you might be interested.

Tony

All of the above, plus West Midlands group is talking to SSAR, as we have an obvious cross membership.

The words 'joint training' were used at one point

Which reminds me - it's time I chased them up again !!

Thanks fellas, the SSAR link is of great interest to me. I love me offroading (btw the above pic was taken on Parkamoor near Nibthwaite, well worth a drive) and I do a bit of bushcrafting too, but I'm hoping my professional qualifications and experience in trauma intensive care should fit in somewhere? I't be good to find something that marries it all together.

Only problem is my shift patterns might mean I struggle to reach the minimum attendances for the SSAR group as I work a lot of nights and weekends. maybe they'll be flexible, we'll see.

Martyn

You will find that we are a lot more flexible in 4x4 Response but I do admit the situation is a bit different in Staffordshire given the rather unique nature of SSAR (i.e. they nearly all have Land Rovers).

As Tim says they were very receptive to the idea of joint working, so lets hope it all comes together.
