Default Hi from Weston super mare

Hi my name is Roger
Just signed up to join the 4x4 forum and looking to sign up and join the nearest 4x4 response team to my location? Looked at Wessex 4x4 website, but has it membership section on it closed. Or does Gloucester 4x4 cover as far down as Weston?
Anyone any answers?
Cheers
Rog

Hi Roger,
Being somewhat geographically challenged when it comes to the south of the country you likely know as much as I if not more in that regard, I'm sure someone from one of the teams will be along shortly and provide some usefull help, unless they are a tad busy with other things at the moment.

Hi Roger,
Yes, it is Wessex that cover where you are, all the way from Dorset through Somerset and including S.Glos and Wilts.

We move from training to operational mode during the winter, and we have our last training session for this year scheduled later this month near Salisbury.
If you could attend that then we could take you on, otherwise you wouldn't be able to become operational until after the new year.

I've sent a PM.

Except there are a few members trying to confuse matters as I live in Sth Glos & joined Glos not Wessex!

Hi Roger, I'm down in WSM periodically visiting the office - not in the Landy unfortunately - if you'd like an inter-group 4x4R chat next time I'd down, drop me a PM

yep, it's a soft-ish border between the Wessex and Glos&Worcs groups, with a few members tending to 'the other side'.
The assumption often made is that S.Glos is part of Glos. (it used to be, but isn't)
and Avon (which defines part of the Wessex area) no longer exists as a county,
so it's all "Beware, here there be dragons" on that bit of the map!
We all work happily together though, whichever team badge we wear.

Most of my relatives, including my parents who live just north of Cheltenham, live in Glos, so that was the final deciding factor for me.

There is a Weston arae team, with a regular Weston pub meet - even if you cant get onboard before the training day - I'm sure they will make you more than welcome at the pub meet.
