Hi all,
My apologies for the lack of news in recent weeks. Unfortunately, the aftermath of the snow has kept the management of most teams fairly busy dealing with expense claims and new applications.
We the Trustees have recently sent out the first of what will be a regular newsletter to all teams, IN RESPONSE.
The Trustees are very pleased to announce that the first 725 jackets of the 1000 which are being supplied to member groups as a result of the kind generosity of
Community Resilience have been received and plans to distribute them are well in hand.
4x4 Response has applied to the
Emergency Planning College which is part of the
Civil Contingencies Secretariat for recognition, for the rate 3 fee. This may sound a little confusing but will mean that member groups will be able to send members to the college as part of 4x4 Response without need sponsorship from a Cat 1 service (blue light services, NHS Council Emergency Planning etc). If we are successful this will in effectmean that any member of any group will be able to attend any course ata a reduced rate, subject to holding the necessary pre-course qualifications.
Last weekend Wessex 4x4 Response held their AGM as guests of Avon & Somerset Police HQ, at which time 17 new members were signed-up. This is roughly 1/4 of the applicants received since the start of the year
