Hey Pete,
Its not too bad buddy, being a real man that's in the weather you get used to it, we dont have tonnes of metal around us with nice heaters etc  ;) Cant pull 44 tonne lorries but have pulled Mondeo's, Renaults and a transit van up a snowy hill last week in Chudleigh

Re: Hello From Me
Thanks Alasdair,
Thats me cover busted lol
Yes, hoping to become a valuable asset to 4x4 Response and build on something thats already going bloody well. Agreed, we don't have some of the abilities that you guys may have be we are able to offer elements that a conventional 4x4 cant, Speed and agility across any terrain in any weather with minimal impact on the enviroment plus we will assist in the lighter tasks that may be needed thus freeing up the heavy artillery for the heavier jobs . We can operate pretty much in any weather and believe it or not floods as well, we can tow the light vehicles as well. ;)
Many fun times ahead I hope and I look forward to being accepted into 4x4 Response as an equal. Here's to the future guys 8-)
I will now get my head around what is required of me and post in the quad section.
Thanks again Alasdair :ugeek:

Re: Hello From Me
Only problem I can see with a Quad is how to you attach an amber beacon to the top of your head
Mind you I am shortly talking to our local group of SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) who carry transfusion blood and sometimes transplant organs on behalf of the NHS on motorbikes.
Obviously 4x4 Response can assist them when it is too dangerous to get out on two wheels but they also want to explore how their service can be expanded into Emergency Response generally.
Of course I do have my own 2x1 Response capability....

Re: Hello From Me
:D who needs the beacons, flashing leds will do the job - making sure they arent the cheapies on certain auction sites.

Re: Hello From Me
LED's are ok, but if your gonna have 'ambers' then legally you need 360 degrees coverage, which LED's cannot do unless you spend a small (or not so small) fortune on an LED lightbar.

Did you try getting off the bike and going in the house? That might have worked better! ;)

Re: Hello From Me
I've seen a, presumably, doctor riding a moped with a green beacon mounted on his helmet. It was along time ago and I was definitely sober
