hi i have approved your posts as new members are moderated, ask your group rep to get you upgraded on the site as you can then see lots more, as for the nine seats forward facing i cant think of any to hand but maybe another member will. welcome along though.

Transit has an AWD version, and a minibus version, I dont know if you can get the minibus in the AWD option tho

Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 minibus (Rare)
VW Transporter 4-Motion Minibus (Rare)
Iveco Daily 4x4 minibus (less common than rocking horse sh*t and not made since 2006 as the Daily 4x4 is now only available as a chassis cab version)

Some LWB Mercedes G wagens also had 9 seats ..but quite rare over here I would imagine- one on ebay now in Leighton Buzzard -£4500ish?

An older Defender 110 Station Wagon could be adapted, replacing the rear sideways benches with genuine or aftermarket forward facing seats. Actually scratch that, only 8 seats.

Would have to be a 130 based bus, specially made from the likes of Foley...

And good luck getting insurance!

How about an American 4x4, one of the big jobbies. Escalade or similar.

Pete

Andy Harvey 21-05-2013 10:55 PM

I Think the Escalade is only a 5 seater, even a Chevy Tahoe / GMC Yukon is only 8 seater.

Apart from the van based 4x4 mini buses - VW, Mercedes, Toyota Townace (only import) etc, there isn't much out there.

Only kidding really but you could try and find a UAZ 452 Bukhanka - built like a brick shed, drive like one but can cope with just about any type of terrain (as long as it doesn't fall over).

Cheers
Andy

Do all the seats face forward? :D

Tony Ferrari 22-05-2013 03:59 PM

Sideways with a bench seat down each side, but it makes no difference. I used to drive those FV432's, the driver's seat is the only place where you don't need to wear a tin hat inside! One way to reduce being thrown around in the back was to put one foot on the lip of the seat opposite to brace yourself, and hope that your mate on the opposite side didn't slip with his foot!
Stopping to refuel used to be fun... especially if you had a petrol one, were doing it in the dark, on a slope and with a hot exhaust pipe, because the petrol filler cap is directly above the exposed exhaust pipe!
Happy days. :D

About 8mpg but multifuel and will run on contaminated fuel, my mates used to get contaminated fuel free from the recovery companies who picked up vehicles that had 'miss fueled'.

BobWessex 25-05-2013 02:04 PM

Miss Fueled, wonder if she knows Mister Gear? :p

Tony Ferrari 28-05-2013 03:51 PM
