who did you use for your website creation?
 

who do/did the other teams use to produce their websites? obviously we would benefit from having one but i`m a simpleton when it comes to computers and have no idea where to start! if someone has a suggestion or even wants to produce a website for us let me know please.

Just a suggestion.
I have used servage in the past to host websites,

Their package includes a website builder that is is easy to use (you do not need to know how to HTML code) and comes with functions that can be easily installed including forums.

They are also reasonable in price :)

cheers mate, i have had a go at building a site before(for work) but gave up after about 2 hours. i do have a member who may be able to help as he`s very tech minded but i would like to get a few ideas from people who already have websites.

The short answer is ME -- not brilliant but at least free.

We are hosted on 34sp.com, who give roughly 10% of their space free to registered charities

I use Do Your Own Site absolutely brilliant for numpties like me who still don't know what html is!

If you are doing it yourself for the first time and looking for a package Joomla is prob the easiest and it is free.
Very time consuming but quite addictive :)

Ours - www.bhclrc.co.uk & www.bhc4x4response.org are done by hand in html using dreamweaver. Personally I find the builder packages never quite do what I want.

Raw html is quite easy but like anything it takes a few hours do get the hang of it.

Hosting; we get for free from 34sp.com if you can't get it for free you'd be looking at about £40/Year.
Charity registration; as you are in Scotland you will ned to take a look here and here

UK based with real people in England giving immediate Tech Support on their messanger service.

We used a package called Joomla to produce the website for HB4x4 Response (www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk). I'm happy to assist any other groups with setting up a similar package, and may be able to provide hosting and/or group forums as well.

1and1 Internet do a similar starters site with a Web Builder package. I can put you in touch with several web designers if you need any pro jobs doing.

My own internal developer colleague is a top man, www.cartersynergy.com Done us a nice tidy job in Dreamweaver for this years refresh! ;o)

i used my brother for hosting and I used myself to build my site. i used to do it for a living but these days any half wit with MS Office can build a site.
